NHL Hockey Rink
A NHL rink is current 200ft. by 85ft. There is a center red line to show the
middle of the ice, where all faceoffs begin at the beginning of a period and
after a goal is scored. There are two blue lines. The team with the puck always
has to have the player with the puck cross that line first before any other
player on that team. There are two red lines which help determine icing. The
trapizoid area behind the net is for the goalies. The goalies can play the puck
anywhere in front of their net but can only play the puck behind the net in the
trapizoid area. If the goalie stops the puck and holds onto it for a whistle the
ref will have the faceoff to the left or right of that goalie.
